Trademark Renewal Services
Your registered trademark is a critical component of your brand’s identity. It protects your business, distinguishes your goods or services, and builds market credibility. However, trademark protection isn’t permanent unless renewed on time. To maintain its validity and exclusive rights, it must be renewed every ten years.
At Consult Your Counsel, we provide end-to-end trademark renewal services—ensuring your brand remains legally protected without interruption.
What is Trademark Renewal?
Trademark renewal is the legal process of extending the validity of a registered trademark beyond its initial 10-year period. Under Section 25 of the Trade Marks Act, 1999, you can apply for renewal before the expiry date or within a six-month grace period following the expiry, by paying the required government fees.
Failure to renew may result in removal of the trademark from the registry. However, restoration is allowed within 12 months from expiry, upon application and payment of an additional fee.
